"Fuzzy"

My hair is starting to come in but it seems as if I'm still loosing eye lashes - both upper and lower.  On the other hand, when I was putting on my makeup this morning I noticed that my eyebrows seem to be filling out.  And then, the dark hair that I don't want - on the face - is coming back.

I saw Dr. Mark (dermatologist) today.  She gave me a card for a place that does laser hair removal.  I'm seriously thinking about doing that so I won't have to worry about it any more.  I've gone through so many years of electolysis but my  face is sensitive to the current.  I know that electrolysis really does work because many years ago, when I was belly dancing semi-professionally, I had the hair on my stomach removed.

So getting back to the hair on my head.  Tom is having so much fun rubbing my head and calling me "Fuzzy."  So for now that's his nickname for me.

Today besides seeing Dr. Mark for a followup from the appt in July (she removed a basal cell carcinoma), we went to see Dr. Wallach.  Never did see her - we saw Debbie instead.  It turned out to be more of a follow up on the aromatase inhibitor that I'm taking (Arimidex) than anything else. Last month when we saw Dr. Wallach, she gave me Femara to take.  Well, I had a side effect.  I found that my ankles and feet had become swollen.  At first I didn't know why it was happening but then I thought about what had changed and I came to the conclusion that it was the Femara.  So I spoke to Debbie; she said to stop taking it for a week.  That was just before we went to Las Vegas so I just didn't take it with me.  While we were there, Tom suggested that I take the Femara again to see if it really was the cause.  So when we got home, I started taking it again.  Two days of Femara and my ankles/feet were swollen again.  That was it!  Called Debbie with the results of my test and she gave me samples of Arimidex.  So far I haven't had any side effects.

Oh, we also talked about my Vitamin D level which she said was too low. I get copies of almost everything; I just looked at the first Vitamin D report and saw that this one shows an improvement.  So I'll get another Vitamin D test at my next visit in a month.  Maybe the levels will go up by then.  I ought to ask Shelly what else I can do to increase it.

  1. Dear Branah: My face was sensitive to electrolysis, too. What my new lady does differently: No ReinA to the face by me 2 nights before; cleans face before treatment with Bactine and puts numbing spray on; uses GOLD needle, cleans off with Bactine after, applies Aveeno Anti-itch cream (not kind with steroid in it). For three days aft3er, sash face, clean area with Bactine, apply Aveno 2 times per day. Bonnie Rose
