BACK TO WORK

I went back to work on Monday. It sure felt great to be back at work but I was also tired and realized that it would be better for my health if I only work 1/2 time. I spoke to the nurse/case manager for my leave and she's arranging that with Intuit. Then I called EDD to arrange the same with state disability - so that I can continue on. Now my oncologist needs to fill out and send in all the paperwork. So I've been working only 4 hours - glad I'm doing that. I've been really tired in the afternoons to the point of dozing off on the couch.

Sunday, I started feeling the effects of the Neulasta. The drug that stimulates my cells to grow. I was told that the effects of that occur in the bones; usually in the lower back. I've been feeling the effects since then. Today my back really bothered me. And I had a bad headache. I didn't want to take any Tylenol because if I have to take Vicodin it would be too much acetiminophin to take one soon after the other. So instead I took the vicodin and it did help me.

I've been waking up a three or four times during the nite for the last few days. At my doctor's visit today, I was given a Rx for Ambien - isn't that what's advertised all over the TV; I never thought I'd need to take a sleeping pill but then it never crossed my mind that I'd end up being treated for breast cancer either.

The results of the genetic testing came back. No mutation was detected for BRCA1 and BRCA2. That's good!! That means that Deborah and Sarah don't have to worry too much that my breast cancer might be passed down genetically. Of course there's always a chance that there's some other mutation that we don't know about yet.

I got a call today that my wig has arrived. I'll pick it up soon but can't do much with it until I'm bald as it has to be adjusted to the size of my head.

I was supposed to go to my plastic surgeon tomorrow for the next fill of my tissue expander. The office called today and had to move my appt to next week.

Went to Exchange Club dinner meeting tonite. I was surprised that I lasted through that and a little shopping a CVS afterwards.

Getting tired now. It's getting late. 'Till next time.
