I got tired of the low grade nausea that wasn't really nausea so I decided to go to see my acupuncturist Dr. Wang. She's a wealth of knowledge. She was schooled in traditional Chinese medicine as well as modern medicine. She always looks at my tongue before she does any treatment. Before I would tell her why I was coming to see her, I asked her to tell me what she saw in my tongue. She said she saw 'heat.' Then I told her what has transpired with me and why I was there. Well, I haven't had any 'nausea' since. I go to see her again on Wednesday . . and then she wants me to come back at least once a week. I know it will be well worth it.
Deborah and I went to pick up my wig on Friday. I prefer not to have the place I got it fix it for me. I'm planning to take it to Ophelia at 'A Greater Hope'. I really liked her. She emanates trust and competence. While we were picking up the wig, I purchased a couple of head coverings. So now I'm prepared - I have a wig and a four various head coverings. No hats yet but I do have some as I have always worn hats (occasionally).
Yesterday we went to Robin Burhman's wedding. She was a beautiful bride. We were sitting waiting for the wedding to start when I realized I was going to need something to keep my mouth wet. Luckily, I had some vitamin C sucking candies in the car. There were a lot of people in the wedding party - 1 candle lighter, 3 bridesmaids, 3 groomsmen, 3 junior bridesmaids, 3 flower girls, 3 ring bearers and one Flower Princess - Robin's daughter, Katarina.

I felt energized. Tom and I were planning to stay for the reception but I realized that I was starting to get tired - the wedding was at 2pm - so we said our goodbyes and drove home. On our way home we stopped at In-and-Out to take home something to eat. When we got home is when I realized that milk shakes and 'coke' floats soothe my throat and keep my mouth moistened. I'm getting to the point where water doesn't taste good to me any more; it's starting to taste metallic.
Today I had a SDJGS (San Diego Jewish Genealogical Society) meeting to go to. It was a good presentation. Stephen Baird M.D., who is one of our members, gave a talk on "DNA: Human kinship, migration, diseases and medical ethics". It was very interesting. I've been putting off sending in my DNA to find out where my mitochondrial DNA fits in. Think I'll do it soon. I always enjoy seeing my genealogy friends at the meeting Came home feeling tired and took a short nap.
I am finding that I definitely need a nap in the afternoon. At the very least, if I have to go somewhere, I should have someone driving me. I am learning to regulate my activities so that I get some rest everyday. I am glad that I am on half-time disability so I have time to rest and I'm happy to be back at work.
